Letterpress Printing & Fine Press Publishing Seminar For Emerging Writers

I am so excited to be 1 of 8 participants selected for the Letterpress Publishing Seminar for Emerging Writers at The Center for Book Arts in New York City, November 4-9th.

Participants will hear lectures from various professionals in the field – printers, fine press publishers, book artists, and dealers, to get a practical overview of letterpress printing and small press publishing. They will learn the basics of letterpress printing, both traditional typesetting and options with new technology, by collaboratively printing a small edition of broadsides or other projects.

Hands On Window

Here is the window in TriBeCa I created for Hands On, where I facilitate visual art with one and a half to three year olds.  I’m so proud to share their beautiful work!  Every day I am so inspired by their creative spirits and seeing the masks of my friend and mentor Ondonesa Maladaw when I come into work!

Halloween Extravaganza

Come see me perform as a gruesome ghoul, ghastly apparition, or dastardly demon in Ralph Lee’s amazing work at St. John’s of the Divine.  He was my mask making teacher and an inspiration!  There will be live organ music, a screening of “The Phantom of the Opera” (1925), followed by a thrilling parade of various ghostly puppets and masked figures.  I look forward to this so much every year!  I wouldn’t miss it!  It’s really my Halloween tradition!

The Bechdel Group’s Staged Reading of 365 Last Suppers

Please join us on Monday, September 29th from 6:00 – 9:00pm to hear and discuss selections from my play 365 Last Suppers and Nat Cassidy’s The Reckoning of Kit and Little Boots.

365 Last Suppers explores art, truth, comedy, and angst, and Mr. Cassidy ponders the potential metaphysical relationship between Kit Marlowe and Caligula – if they were women.

Mark your calendars for September 29th, 6:00pm at the Back Room at Jimmy’s No. 43 (43 E 7th Street in the East Village).

Actors, directors, dramaturgs, playwrights, and those of you interested in and excited about new play development – hope you can make it!
