Opening Reception of Lilac Arts Series

Here are some photos I took before the opening night reception of the Lilac Arts Series and a photo of me taken by Nisa Ojalvo.  I have masks being displayed there currently.

I’m looking forward to a collaboration with photographer Nisa Ojalvo and an  artist talk on May 30th at 3Pm with Jenny Wong-Stanley.

The Lilac Arts Series is a contemporary art exhibition and public events series aboard the historic museum ship Lilac. The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Lilac was built in 1933 and is America’s only surviving steam-powered lighthouse tender. The Lilac is currently being restored as a unique vehicle for maritime education and community activities and is berthed at Hudson River Park’s Pier 25 in New York City. The Lilac Arts Series will run from May 19 to August 15, 2015 and will focus on three themes inspired by the ship’s story – “Steam”, “Work + Labor” and “Restoration/Reinvention“.
